Mercedes-Benz presents María Clè Leal
Stuttgart/Amsterdam. She’s a rising fashion star in her hometown of Madrid, and now she’s also making a splash in Amsterdam. Guests in the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week tent today celebrated María Clè Leal’s first show in the Netherlands, praising her brilliant offering on the last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam.

For her Autumn/Winter 2015 collection, Fragile, María Clè Leal presented a delicate, ephemeral and feminine collection. Focussing on the silhouette of the dress and the skirt, it played heavily with volume and proportion.  The colour palatte was almost entirely black, nude and fuchsia. Taking as her inspiration the petals of a flower, María used fabrics such as boiled wool to create large and yet flattering structures that enveloped the model’s forms.  It was minimalism meets maximalism at its best, a clear example of the influence of art on María’s designs. The collection was lauded by the guests, including Holland’s own supermodel and face of Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer 2016 Doutzen Kroes and her DJ husband Sunnery James amongst many others.

María Clè Leal was invited to show as the guest of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam as part of the Mercedes-Benz Designer Exchange Program, a platform to showcase and support up-and-coming talent across international borders. Offering targeted support to highly talented young fashion designers is the stated aim of Mercedes-Benz. Maria: “I am very grateful to Mercedes-Benz for this opportunity – it’s a great showcase to display my work.”
